It does not fall out the sword from its sheath. Leather stopper is shorter for a little shrinkage. Rub the leather pouch sheath,I keep in good condition and not torn. It is the sword of the things at the ww2. I consider the handling of outside of Japan and Terms on ebay. Part of the blade is a blade of imitation. Blade length- 26 1/2 inches Tang- 9 inches The handle needs rewrapped as well but other than that it is in good shape and ready for any collector. more There is a little bit of rust on the tip which is only surface rust and not as bad as it looks.

The wartime hand forged blade on this sword is very good example of the type. Yoshichika produced swords as an arsenal sword smith during the WW2.

The shinogi-zukuri shaped blade is marked on the obverse face of the haft(nakago’ with the name Yoshichika( 吉近) The reverse face of the haft is marked with the blue painted Japanese numbers 1046 which are thought by collectors to be warehouse numbers. This particular blade was made by‘ Yoshichika’ Whose real name was Yoshioka Tetsujiro( 吉岡 鉄次郎) He was registered as Seki Kaji smith on the 26th April 1943 and was one of the approximately 200 Seki based smiths listed in the Seki Tanrensho(directory of Seki swordsmiths) John Slough’s book‘ An Oshigata Book of Modern Japanese Swordsmiths 1868-1945’ lists him as Yoshichika. Up for sale is a WW2 gunto mounted Showa era sword in Japanese marine mounts.
